Fun and search commands

Select a command in Discord’s picker and provide its requested options. April must be able to respond in the channel; reaction commands explicitly require View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links for the bot. Server command permissions and provider availability can vary.

/pat, /hug, /poke, /kiss, /slap, /laugh, /lick, /cry, /bite, /cuddle, /dance, /facepalm, /highfive, /punch and /stare accept an optional user (default: none). For example, choose /hug and select a member to send a reaction image. With no user, the response addresses the invoker. /lovecalc takes a required user and renders a result; choosing yourself returns without a result. It is unavailable in direct messages. For example, select /lovecalc, choose another member as user, and submit to request an image with a percentage. If it does not appear, check channel permissions and retry later; an unavailable renderer can prevent the result.

  • Images: /cat, /dog, /birb, /fox, /panda, /koala.
  • Facts: /dogfact, /catfact.
  • Jokes and advice: /chucknorris, /yommajoke, /geekjoke, /yesno, /advice.
  • /meme requests a random meme. /memegenerator takes required image-url, upper-text and lower-text options; both text fields must be nonblank and at most 100 characters each. The URL must be absolute and respond to a HEAD request with an image content type.

Unsent meme generator command draft with empty image URL, upper text and lower text options

An unsent, empty /memegenerator draft in the non-production AprilBeta bot in April Testing’s #test channel on 2026-11-02. No provider request or rendering was executed; the deployed revision was unknown.

These animal, fact and joke commands and /meme take no options. For example, choose /cat for an animal image, /dogfact for a fact, or /geekjoke for a joke. A successful request returns the corresponding image or text. Choose /meme for a random meme, or supply an accessible image URL and both captions to /memegenerator to request a rendered image. If it fails or produces no response, retry later: external services can return empty or invalid data, time out, or change. For a generator error, check the URL and text limits; a URL that works in a browser may not allow the required HEAD request. Use only an image you are allowed to share.

/movie requires movie-name; /anime requires anime-name; /manga requires manga-name. /trendanime and /trendmanga take no title. For example, select /anime, enter a title in anime-name and submit; a matching result displays details from the provider. If no match is found, try a different or more specific title. Movie errors and empty trending results can produce a generic failure. Provider outages, missing fields or unexpected responses can also prevent a reply; retry later. The current source uses the same trending provider call for both trending commands, so do not assume that /trendmanga independently verifies a manga-specific feed.
